Avenues at SxSW
In 2024, students, teachers, and parents from Avenues São Paulo had the chance to attend SXSW, the world's largest innovation festival.
Michel and Larissa, 12th-grade students, were the only Brazilian representatives among the six finalists at the Student Impact Challenge, a competition that celebrates initiatives to solve real-world problems. They showcased the 'Be a Part' project, an initiative to promote digital inclusion for older people, focusing on disseminating information for social integration and fraud prevention.
Allison Uros, an Avenues teacher and mentor in the Seedbank acceleration program, accompanied the students, along with Clara Prado, who was invited to participate in the SXSW Roundtable Sessions addressing "Supporting Multilingual Learning & Learners."
The Avenues Parents Association (APA), in turn, connected families not just to participate in the festival but also to share the experience and knowledge gained with those who could not be there.
This integration of students, teachers, and families reflects the ongoing commitment to fostering innovative, collaborative, and transformative education. Watch the video to learn more.
